Hofstra is 14-9 overall and 6-4 in league play following an 85-78 overtime victory over James Madison on Saturday. It was the Aaron Estrada show as the junior poured in a career-high 35 points to lead the Pride to the win. Graduate student Zach Cooks added 16 points, while sophomore Darlinstone Dubar chipped in with 12.
UNCW comes into Monday’s game with a 16-6 overall record and a Colonial Athletic Association mark of 10-1. The Seahawks defeated William & Mary, 92-70, on Saturday behind 30 points from Mike Okauru.
Monday will be the 48th all-time meeting between Hofstra and UNCW with all the meetings occurring since the Pride joined the CAA in 2001-02. UNCW captured the first meeting between the teams, 78-72, on January 29 down in North Carolina. Hofstra leads the series, 24-23, and captured both meetings in Wilmington a season ago. The Pride has won four of the last five and five of the last seven games between the teams.
